What is the ideal duration of a typical animation video?

It usually depends on your intended use of the video. We recommend, that videos created for marketing communication and product explainer videos should be restricted to less than 120 seconds. However if you would want to use a video for training purposes then the duration can be as long as your content.

How much time does it take to create an animated explainer video?

Delivery timelines depend upon the type of video and duration of the video you need. A simple 60-90 second whiteboard or a motion graphics animation video will require approx. 3 weeks for execution whereas a character animation video may require 3 to 4 weeks for execution. Rushing up a video production process may impact the quality of the video negatively.

Why does creating a video take so much time?

Video creation is a complex process and to ensure we are able to produce a high quality animated video, each deliverable of the process needs to be reviewed with the client before we are able to move to the next step. The animation video production process involves:

  • Understanding your marketing requirements
  • Creating a concept
  • Writing a script for the video
  • Visualizing and Sketching a storyboard
  • Drawing the Graphics and illustrations for the video
  • Animating the Graphics and illustrations and adding video effects
  • Selecting the Voice Over artist, Recording and syncing the voiceover
  • Adding and syncing appropriate background music, Sound Effects to enhance quality

Would you share the source files for the project?

As a standard industry practice, concepts and raw or working files are generally not delivered to the client and they remain the property of PitchWorx. However if you still need the raw source files, we will be happy to deliver the same for a small fee @20% of the project fee.

What are the various formats you can deliver the final video in?

The final video files can be delivered in all popular video formats including AVI, FLV, WMV, MP4, and MOV. However generally most clients request MP4 file format.

Who owns the rights to the videos?

You do. We may use the video for marketing purposes post your approval and due written consent to do so.

What tools do you use to create an animated explainer video?

We need to use quite a few tools from our arsenal including but not limited to:

  • For illustrations we use Adobe illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Affinity Photo and Design
  • For animation we use Adobe After Effects – although Adobe Flash may also be used but it’s very rare these days that we are expected to use Adobe Flash tool.
  • For editing we use Adobe Premier Pro

Note: All the software we use are licensed & premium/paid versions.

How much do you charge for an animated explainer video?

The charges depend on the style of the video you need and the concept that you have in mind. The charges for a simple montage video or a screencast video may be very less as compared to a more complex character animation or a motion graphics video.
